CHARTERED ARCHITECT / DIRECTOR

DOUGLAS NICHOLSON
B.Arch (Hons) M.Arch RIBA RIAS ARB

Dougie registered as an architect in 1994 having obtained Honours and Masters degrees at the University of Glasgow's Mackintosh School of Architecture.  He is a former director of Canata and Seggie Chartered Architects having previously been design director of a Glasgow shopfitting company.

Dougie has wide experience in residential and domestic fields including flatted development and public housing.  In addition, he is experienced in commercial and public development including retail, leisure, industrial and healthcare works.  He is committed to the promotion of ethics in practice.

Dougie is a keen cyclist and is a former national cycling champion and record holder.  In addition, he enjoys hillwalking and travel with wife Carolynne, landscape photography and painting.

PAUL McSHANE
B.Sc (Hons) P.G.DIP RIBA RIAS ARB

Paul has been a registered architect for 11 years and holds an Honours degree and a Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Strathclyde.  Prior to a directorship with Canata and Seggie Chartered Architects, Paul worked for a number of large Glasgow firms and ran his own successful practice for 4 years.

Paul is passionate about building good working relationships and promoting good quality design to clients in all sectors.  His areas of expertise include residential and domestic work, residential care homes and offices.  His specialisms include detailing and 3-d modelling.

Paul enjoys spending time with his wife Jennifer and young family, and is a keen musician, playing guitar in a number of local bands.  He also enjoys art, movies, hillwalking, travel and good food.

CHARTERED ARCHITECT

NICOLA FALCONER
B.Sc (Hons) M.Arch RIBA RIAS ARB

Nicola studied at the University of Strathclyde where she obtained an Honours degree and a postgraduate Masters degree with Merit.  Nicola has recently passed her Part 3 exam and registered as an architect. 

Nicola has gained experience in a wide variety of project types including domestic, leisure and industrial.  Nicola's particular interests are in conservation architecture and contemporary design.  Nicola is organised and motivated, and brings high levels of design flair to every one of her projects.

In her spare time, Nicola enjoys a number of outdoor activities including running and hillwalking (with 50 Munros completed and counting).

SENIOR ARCHITECTURAL TECHNOLOGIST

JASON SMITH
HN.Cert ACIAT AaPS

Jason holds an HNC in Architectural Technology from Glasgow College of Building and Printing and has 13 years experience in practice.  Jason is also an Associate Member of the Association for Project Safety.

Jason's particular interests lie in construction detailing and in project Health & Safety (in particular the Construction (Design and Magagement) Regulations).  Jason brings an invaluable pragmatism and perceptiveness to the practice coupled with a problem-solving nature committed to maximising the potential of every project.

Jason is a former 1st XV rugby player and continues his involvement in the sport as a youth coach with Greenock Wanderers.  Jason also enjoys family activities with wife Victoria and his two young children.

ARCHITECT

LINZI SUTTIE
B.Sc (Hons) P.G.DIP ARB

Linzi has been registered as an architect since 2003 and holds an Honours degree and Post Graduate Diploma from the University of Strathclyde.  Linzi has worked for a number of Glasgow architects practices including undertaking secondment posts in London and Birmingham.  In addition, Linzi has experience in Local Government where she gained experience in a number of sectors including Commercial, Healthcare, Transport & Infrastructure and Education.

Linzi enjoys spending time with her husband James and her young son and enjoys swimming and Crossfit in her leisure time. 

ARCHITECTURE STUDENT

DANIEL O'NEILL

Daniel is has joined our team on his Professional Practice year out as part of his honors degree studies at the University of Glasgow's Mackintosh School of Architecture. As well as seeking valuable insights into the daily rituals of the construction industry he hopes to further develop his design capabilities and technical skills. 

Daniel is a certified P.A.D.I Open Water Diver. In his free time he enjoys playing guitar and spending quality time with friends and family.

OUR PREMISES

We've recently re-located to a spacious suite within the beautiful A listed Custom House in central Greenock.  We're 2 minutes walk from Greenock Central Station and 5 minutes walk from Greenock town centre.
