We were commissioned to come up with ideas for the replacement of a steep, exposed external access stair to a large traditional upper villa flat in Greenock's West End Conservation Area.

Our solution involves the construction of a new stair enclosure, allowing safe access to the flat at ground floor level.  Externally, the extension uses traditional materials in a thoroughly modern way.  The proportions of the new build are carefully considered so that the character of the villa is enhanced and complemented.
